Why do metals give up electrons easily?

because the electrons of the metals are free means they are far away from the nucleus since nucleus is the main one which attracts the electrons towards itself so that the electrons cannot escape in nonmetals but in metals there are too many electrons so they have less nuclear attraction between electrons and the nucleus so they easily escapes from the atoms and reacts with other atoms and these metal atoms are called active atoms for the reaction.
