What is the best military branch for my brother and I?

My brother is in his second year of college and I am in my first year. He want to become a police officer/state trooper and move higher to FBI/CIA ect. I am looking to go into medical school after college and be a Doctor. We're looking at each miltary branch to help us with education and a good resume for our future and to serve our country. My friend joined the Army National Guard, he's in all reserve but might get deployed in 2010. That is my main concern, we want to be as much reserve as possible, definitely don't want to be deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. We are talking to recruiters tomorrow. From my research, it looks like the National Guard offers a good sign up bonus, but it looks like the bad is that reserves unit might get deployed when needed. I know the Marines are very disciplined. I do not know alot about the Airforce. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Our main question is basically what is the best military branch to stay reserved and help our country during times like Hurricaine Katrina. and to stay out of combat duty. Thank You
