Why is he acting like this?

I met a guy about 5 months ago in college he had his eye on me for a while andfinally approched me at first i was very weary about talkin to him because he isnt whati would normally go for but eventually i started to like him more.....he told me how he cared about me, and even said he loved me and everything and during our summer break we wouldnt lose touch.....but nowwe don even talk anymore i will call him he never answers he rarely even texts me anymore.....i dont understand that if he cares about me y doesn't he talk to me anymore?
