Diamond iX3 chest protector...any good?

Hi does anyone know if the Diamond iX3 chest protector for umpires is any good? I found one for a great price ($60), but I'm wary because it's "a combination of foam and plastic", not plated like the West Vest...any users or knowledgable people about this vest? I'm unlikely to be umping past AAU, although it's possible that I'll move up to legion...fastest pitchers probably in low to mid 80s
